Olympic Medal Count – “Halftime”

The Vancouver British Columbia Canada Olympiad is practically half over. The current count of gold, silver and bronze medals awarded is as follows:

 North America = 27 ( 8 gold + 9 silver + 9 bronze )

Axis Powers ’42 = 21 ( 5 g + 8 s + 8 b )

“Scandinavian Mafia” = 15 ( 7 g + 5 s + 3 b )

USSR ’68 = 9 ( 1 g + 6 s + 2 b )

In the spirit of olympic international sportsmanship, this calculation is for amusement only.  ;<)

Let the games continue in peace. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

  1. Correction:
Benito Musillini’s ghost reminds us that with Italy’s medals, the Axis Powers of 1942 have 25 total medals (an additional one silver and three bronze awards thus far). North America’s lead now stands at two.
