Saturday Sports Spectacular – December 4, 2010
Dateline: North America
While the Oregon Ducks and Auburn Tigers qualified for the BCS Championship Game next year in Arizona, other college football teams demonstrated their championship style… the Mountaineers, the Pitt Panthers, Nebraska Cornhuskers/Oklahoma Sooners, et. al.
After the annual Army-Navy game, the bowl season starts up before Christmas. The lineups will officially be announced during the next two days. Teddy and friends are looking forward to a Hula Bowl featuring the Fighting Irish and the Oklahoma State Cowboys in their first-ever meeting on the gridiron.
The Stanford Cardinal SHOULD be chosen to represent the Pacific Ten Conference in the Rose Bowl on 1-1-11. Their respectable opponent from the Big Ten (11) Conference will be the Wisconsin Badgers. It may be too early to handicap this match up, but we cannot resist. Teddy expects a high-scoring offensive show in the Rose Bowl with Stanford winning by a field goal; final the Cardinal 37, Badgers 35. It will be a game for the ages to nurse one’s NYE’s hangover in front of the color TV.
The line ups for the Sugar, Orange, and Cotton Bowls will likely be one-sided affairs.
Imagine South Carolina Gamecocks versus the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs!?! Or how about this one: Panthers vs. Alabama? I’d rather see the Hula Bowl than those blowouts.
Check the BCS rankings in the morning. These rankings are computer-generated indexes that are full of software design flaws. The BCS Committee should have their heads examined to rely on data generated by some piece of electronic hardware manufactured in China by Apple Computer Company.
