Wild Card NFL Weekend Begins January 8th

I am already breaking one of my new year’s resolutions and have decided to handicap this weekend’s football games:

First in Seattle’s loud stadium – Take the dog!  The defending champion Saints are favored by more than ten-and-a-half points this morning, so take the HOMEDOG. We’re looking forward to a defensive, low scoring battle (less than 45.5 total points). Figure the ‘Aints will eventually win the game but not cover the spread.

Next up on Saturday in the Hoosier State – ‘Ya gotta go with the home blues – the former superbowl champion Indianapolis Colts are only favored by 2.5 points. We’re looking forward to a second half blowout – Final Score might be Indy 31, Jets 17.

The big showdowns are on Sunday. Beginning at 10 a.m. PST, we got the one-time world champion Baltimore Ravens creaming the Kansas City Chiefs in Missouri. The Ravens and the under seem like sure bets, today.

The finale of Wild Card Weekend will be held in Philly. Tradition holds that the Packers can repeat as champs (after all, they won the first two superbowls) but must wipe out the Eagles on the road first. Pack betters will likely get 2.5 points from the oddsmakers, thus take Green Bay and the over. Maybe we’ll see a Green Bay Packers 28, Philadelphia 21 final score.

Good luck and enjoy the games!
