111th U. S. Open 2011 at Congressional

Dateline: Bethesda, Maryland U.S.A.

The Evening of Saturday, June 18, 2011

The leader board after 54 of the 72-hole championship has Rory McIlroy at the top. The Northern Irishman has an 8, 9, and 10-stroke lead over the closest golfers.

It is the kid’s tournament to win or lose. McIlroy lost his last round lead in April’s The Masters. He is likely to prevail in this major.

I am still pulling for Matt Kuchar and Bubba Watson, both Americans, to win. Matt is back 10-strokes and Bubba can only hope for third place at best.

It is amazing to note that McIlroy has only taken 199-strokes during the first 54-holes.

Sunday’s Fathers Day action should be good!
