Hall Of Fame Candidate Coach Nellie Desires To Emerge From Retirement

Don Nelson Headed For Cold Weather?

Thursday’s sports news in the Palo Alto Daily News states that former Warriors, Mavericks, and Celts coach Don “Nelly” Nelson will move from his warm Maui beachfront home to the winter wonderland of Minneenoplace, Minnesota, to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a division championship.

Nelson reports that the Timberwolves organization has interviewed almost a dozen former NBA coaches that are out of work. Actually, all pro coaches are presently out of work due to the NBA work action, player and owners’ strike.

When asked whether he really would like the job based in the cold upper Midwest, Nellie answers, “I’d love to come back in and coach against the Warriors. That would be a lot of fun.”
