Dailey Web-Blog Ramblings (to be continued on Saturday) About Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (D-Atherton) and California State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Shallow Alto)
Dateline: San Francisco Peninsula – Early December 2011 –
We’re sort of frustrated today about the inaction of our State Senator Joe Simitian and congresswomen on OWS and other important issues. His office came up with one position statement and has yet to contact me despite visiting his Palo Alto office and phoning a staffer earlier this week.
One of Senator Joe’s legislative aides (William Leiter) wrote “JOE INK: Simitian Says Fixing Education Central to Occupy’s Challenge”
Too bad we cannot vote elected politicians out of office. In California, we have term limits on Sacramento legislators. Joe is in his last year of two terms (elected versus no viable candidate). He has operated during the last decade like he received a mandate or something.
Senator Joe Simitian (democrat) has sponsored repeated “safety” laws which turn soccermoms and teenagers into criminals. His cell phone rules while driving have created more problems than the “there ought to be a law” contest-generated drafted legislation suggest.
Well, there are more important things going on in this district, state and nation that have not been effectively addressed by local lawmakers (including 19-year House of Representatives veteran Anna Eschoo [democrat, Atherton]) in this millenium or the last.
I have had it. I ran against Eshoo in 1992 and lost. This was the first time she was elected – Tom Huening should have won – and Representative Anna Eshoo has been there ever since.
She is directly responsible for the local high unemployment rate. She enabled big Silicon Valley businesses to get more “green cards”, foreign student visas, work visas for foreign nationals, and not have to train able workers who were born in this area.
When Ronald Reagan was President, she was in Congress. When George W. Bush was President, she was in Congress. Things have suffered for native-born Californian ever since.
Well, more tomorrow. Let us try to get some rest.
