“Hully and Mike” — My New Kids

Thank God it is Saturday!

I found not one, but two kindred spirits to live with!!

“Hully”, is a 12-week-old female apricot standard French Poodle. She is aptly named after my greatgrandfather George Foster Hull, who was an earlier supporter of Notre Dame football. Grandpa Hull used to encourage the billiard shooting likes of George Gipp and other college student athletes around South Bend about the last turn of the century.

“Mike”, is a my new three-month-old black and tan tabby tom cat, who was also discovered at the same Indiana pet store where “Hully” was acquired. Mike was the name of Hully’s pal, who would lead train trips with football teams to games around the country even prior to the days when the legendary Knute Rockne coached in The Bend.

Dad is so excited. “Hully” and “Mike” are due to come home from Delilah’s Pet Shop this Monday!
