Football is Back!

Just Ike’s hunch for tonight: Arizona State UNDER, South Carolina OVER.

Let’s see what happens.

College Games of Note:

There is not much recent performance history to go by on the opening weekend of the college football season. Lookie… here are some very interesting match-ups; many intersectional games; and a couple SouthEast Conference showdowns.

Weber State at Arizona State (-46; 67) – How good are these quarterbacks? The favored Sun Devils are a preseason top 20 team.

Texas A&M at South Carolina (-9.5; 61.5) – No Johnny Touchdown at A&M anymore. South Carolina comes in with a #9 preseason rating.

Friday, August 29

BYU (-16.5; 52) at UConn

Colorado State vs. Colorado (-3; 59)

UNLV at Arizona (-23.5; 60)

Saturday, August 30

Clemson Tigers at Georgia Bulldogs (-7.5; 55) – This is a real conference game that both teams want to win very badly. Who wants it more?

LSU Tigers (-5; 51) at Wisconsin Badgers – You’d think that the home team would have the advantage?

Ohio State at Navy (+16.5; 55) – The Buckeyes have lost their nationally-recognized quarterback for the season. Can THE OSU find a replacement with timing? Navy is in great condition.

California Golden Bears at Northwestern Wildcats (-11; 62.5) – This is not a Rose Bowl match-up but will tell us a lot about the strength of their two conferences.

#1 Florida State Seminoles (-18; 63.5) at Oklahoma State Cowboys – The Cowboys lost some great defensive players to the NFL. Can they hold the points low against the defending national champion and Heisman Trophy winning quarterback?
